EarthMC turns 10 years old!

EarthMC turned 10 years old on 21 August 2026. I'm so grateful for the community and everything you've accomplished throughout the years. Insane bases, long-lasting nations, big and small towns, drama and a whole lot of larp. In celebration of this anniversary, everyone who signed on the day has received a special Globe badge.
Since 2016, millions of players have joined, contributing to thousands of towns and nations being founded. We've had three map resets: 2018, 2022 and the last one in 2026. EarthMC has defined the now popular earth server genre. There has been a lot of conflict, but also a lot of friendship. One of my fondest memories is when two players who first met on the server got married back in 2018.
Although the server has grown a lot since 2016, the core gameplay loop has remained the same. Gold ingots as currency, Towny for land management and an earth map instead of vanilla terrain. I think that consistency, and the fact that map resets are years apart, is a big part of why the server has lasted. It's something I felt was missing from the servers I used to play, and it's something I'll keep striving for over the next decade.
Even with a solid core loop, there's always room for improvement. Two particular issues we're working on now are improving new player experience and making sure there is enough content for veteran players to stick around. On the latter, I'm excited about some gameplay updates that will be revealed in the near future.
Thank you for playing EarthMC!
